Founded in 1927, the University of Houston is the leading public research university in the vibrant international city of Houston. College of Technology
at the University of Houston
The College of Technology had its beginnings in 1940 when local firms contributed funds for the third permanent building on campus for the new School of Technology. The first technical institute programs to be initiated by the new college in 1945 were also the first engineering technology programs in the state of Texas, accredited by the Engineers Council for Professional Development. By 1962 the College of Technology offered 16 programs - 9 vocational and 7 engineering technology programs. By 1968 the college was granting a Bachelor of Science in Technology degree. Mr. Jerry Pyka
Jerry Pyka is the Director of Programs for the department of Information and Logistics Technology in the College of Technology at the University of Houston. He manages three undergraduate bachelor of science degree programs, as well as certificate programs for the department, is responsible for developing and reviewing departmental documentation, and developing programs for the College.
Jerry also teaches various junior and senior level courses for the department, and works with College administration to develop degree program articulation agreements with local community colleges.
He was previously employed in aerospace, and petroleum industries as Quality Systems Manager and Configuration Manager respectively. Jerry is RABQSA ISO 9001:2000 / TS16949:2002 certified as a lead auditor, and is certified as an ISO 9001:2000 Trainer/Coach. In 1996 he received his CMII certification. He is a graduate of the University of Houston with B.S. and M.S. degrees.
